How it started
The vision was local Amish/Mennonite Paul and Orpha Weavers. It started with a little log cabin being built on the hill (Cricket Hill) behind their house that they rented out. Three more were added on the land that is now the current Cricket Hill Cabin establishment. When the Weavers moved out of the area to start an out-reach church in Brown County, OH the three cabins and 12 acres were handed over to a couple with 3 young boys in 2004. That was us, the Klines. We added our house so we could live on site to take care of it all. The goal is still that this could be a get-a-way to help couples and guests relax, unwind and leave feeling rejuvenated and reconnected with God and each other.
We have kept things basically the same except for minor improvements and changes such as adding hot tubs and private decks to all 3 cabins. We have not added TVs or wi-fi as to not take away from the enjoyment of nature and the woods. We still offer the complimentary locally homemade granola that our guests so enjoy.
